Hi~Nice to meet u :)
Ai Deng(b.2002) is a multidisciplinary visual artist born in Beijing currently based in London. Her practice spans drawing, sculpture, moving image, and installation, and extends into participatory and socially engaged projects.
Her work explores the relationships between humans and nature, body and spirit, focusing on embodied perception across social, ecological, and psychological contexts. Influenced by Daoist philosophy and shamanic traditions, she works with themes of symbiosis, spiritual dwelling, and emotional states, using poetic and symbolic visual language to give form to inner experience.
Grounded in field research, embodied practices, and material experimentation, her process often involves walking, observing natural environments, bodily documentation, and collaborative or participatory actions. She frequently works with clay, paper, natural materials, and moving image, and adopts a theatrical approach to exhibition-making, creating immersive spaces that invite movement, reflection, and emotional resonance.
